Our Mission
We are expanding access to education in last mile communities in Sierra Leone
Working with local partners, Schools for Salone provides quality education to children in last-mile communities across Sierra Leone by supporting schools, training teachers, and removing the barriers that keep girls out of school. Since 2005, our impact includes reaching over 18,000 students, building 47 schools, and training 1,000 teachers. Our investment in education in Sierra Leone since 2019 totals $2.3 million, which includes distributing 50,000 reusable menstrual pads to help keep girls in school.

Schools for Salone expands access to quality education in Sierra Leone
by building schools, training teachers, and empowering girls. Because
we believe in the lasting impact of community-initiated solutions,
requests for our projects come from Sierra Leoneans in rural
villages that are highly motivated to educate their children.
